Earth is more than rock, water, and atmosphere.

It is a four-and-a-half-billion-year experiment in planetary evolution, a record of vanished oceans and forgotten continents, and the stage upon which life emerged and intelligence learned to ask questions about its own existence.

Terrene is a personal space where I explore ideas from Earth science, physics, evolution, philosophy, climate change and the grand history of everything, from the birth of the universe to the present day, and the possible futures of humanity and life itself. Some articles will discuss scientific research. Others will examine broader questions about nature, time, knowledge and humanity's place in the cosmos.

The objective is not merely to discuss science, but to cultivate curiosity.
